Full Service
What is dedicated research like?
When you sign up for dedicated research support, we assign an experienced researcher to work with you on a part-time or full-time basis.
Each member of our team has worked in nonprofit organizations, and we match researchers to clients based on experience and interest. Hitting it off and hitting the ground running are the norm, and you will find yourself working with someone genuinely interested in your organization’s mission.
You have immediate access to his or her expertise, our extensive library of research resources, and a talented back bench of HBG colleagues with their own specialty knowledge.
He or she will provide research reports, suggest prospect identification projects, help with relationship management and data analytics…everything to help you craft an intelligence strategy to find, engage, and convert prospects into donors.
Benefits
Each of our team members has deep prospect research experience…
…and The Helen Brown Group is a constant learning lab – we share resources, knowledge and techniques every day. We know how to find the critical information you need – fast.
Dedicated research support is 52 weeks per year.
With HBG dedicated research support, there is always someone at HBG available to help you year-round, even if your HBG partner is on vacation. That’s like getting an extra month of work time, if you factor in the typical nonprofit schedule of vacation, sick, and holiday leave time.
We bring cutting edge expertise in a flexible package
Both large and small nonprofits need prospect research, and we help organizations of all sizes. From small nonprofits that need research but can only afford part-time help part of the year, to large organizations that need extra help with special projects. Dedicated support provides the best prospect research expertise in the world on a time-scale that works best for you.
Case Studies
A large Midwestern research university completed a wealth screening in anticipation of an upcoming capital campaign. The university’s in-house prospect research team was already hard at work preparing briefings of potential major donors, so they contracted with The Helen Brown Group to provide dedicated research support. Their need was for 3 months of full-time assistance and six months of part-time help to analyze, verify and segment the returns of the screening. In that time, their researcher was also able to create a special report segmenting out tier 2 and tier 3 groups of prospects for cultivation and solicitation later in the campaign.
A private boarding and day school in New England needs help annually to identify parents to involve as volunteers and donors as soon as acceptances are received. Each year they contract with HBG for a three month period to create lists, formulate the best research plan, and conduct appropriate research on each of their top parent prospects.
A small US-based support organization for a UK charitable foundation needs to identify US-based prospective donors. Through a combination of list-building, analytics and research on current donors, we are able to identify prospects amongst their current constituency and devise strategies to find future significant donors similar to their current pool. This is an ongoing contract, and their research partner acts as an adjunct, semi-permanent part of their fundraising team.
